Although not involving either the Railway or Tramway at Beamish this incident none the less must be regretted and our thoughts should be with both the young lads parents and the driver of the vehicle involved.
Very sad news from Beamish museum.

Been anounced that the Traction Engine involved was being driving by the young lads 41 year old father.A terrible tragedy and such a sad loss of a young innocent life. R.I.P. young man.

Good heavens, what a tragedy.
The family must be distraught.
My sympathies are with them.
