Post by Rlangham »

I can see that from a fleeting glance some people might think it was a Spitfire, but my money is on the Gloster E28/39 prototype jet. :D Nice little machine, not the first jet to fly but easily the best of the three pioneers!

Cockpit windscreen does not have the flat / angled panel, so it can't be a WW2 fighter. I'd say it's a modern aircraft done up to look like a Spitfire.

It looks too long for that and the cockpit is wrong for it too.

Hawker Hurricane? No idea about aircraft, but it looks old.

Looking at the way the fuselage drops away behind the cockpit, and seeing what appear to be twin tail fins, (if they relate to the same aircraft), and although I'm thrown by the British style camouflage, I'm tempted to suggest its a WW2 P38 Lightning?

Ay up!

That windscreen is reminiscent of a Photo Recce Spitfire but the fuselage shape's wrong.

I'm still puzzled at the shape of the front portion of the plexiglass on the cockpit. Hang on, is it a P40?

EDIT: I'd definitely count out any radials. It looks too thin.
