Happy new year

Post by Rlangham »

Happy new year to everyone on the LNER forum - does anyone have 'new years resolutions', or just general railway-related plans for 2012? Personally I hope to start building my N gauge Edwardian NER Layout, and also start seriously researching the North Eastern Railway during the First World War - as well as hopefully seeing some more NER locomotives in action such as the Q6 and J72
Author of 'The North Eastern Railway in the First World War' - now available in paperback!

Happy to help with anything relating to the railways in the First World War, just ask

Happy New Year to you too!

The only railway related project I am likely to be involved with this year is the proposal to reopen part of the Malton & Driffield Railway based on the site of Sledmere & Fimber station. It'll be hard graft but I dreamed of seeing trains here

Happy New Year to everyone.

No New Year Resolutions, but a new year project is being formulated; complete the viaduct section of the Rede Valley Line to exhibition standard. Not that this will ever be exhibited as it is part of a large permanent system in my loft.

The blog will hopefully cover progress. and I'll include the first entry detailing the plans and project objectives in the next couple of days.

Three railway related resolutions:
  • Put the final touches to my J50 (weathering, windows, coal)
  • Finish my J6 (tender pick-up, painting etc.)
  • Wire up my Union Mills D20 so that it crosses sections driven by different controllers
Probably a case of copy and paste for 2013!

Happy New Year to everyone!
