O/T but a wonderful film clip.

Here is a 5 minute film in colour, recorded from the back of a road vehicle travelling around London streets.

Someone says there is a 1955 Hillman Minx in there somewhere, which makes the date a little later than that given by the blurb.

Full marks to the internet though, for giving us all the chance to watch quality historical clips such as this.

If only the company had made one of similar quality on station platforms....... or did they and has not been discovered yet?

Edited: Maybe I spoke too soon, here is the Metropolitan Railway circa 1910

Thing that strikes me is how little clutter there is. No barriers, fences, notices and certainly no yellow lines.

However did we manage.

Sorry to sound like a boring old git, but then I am

There's some wonderful early British films taken from an electric tram, usually facing forwards, as it drives around a town or city in Edwardian England. Regarding the platform views, there's also one taken from a blue Pullman, London to Birmingham in ten minutes or similar?

London about 1957 - 1958? I seem to remember my sister wearing skirts of that length when she was in her teens.

A visit to top shed is really good - I thought that I had scooped it, until I searched for the link - shouldn't you put it in the LNER section BB? The punters will go mad!
