Steptoe & son tv programme dvds.
About a year ago i bought the COMPLETE Steptoe & son tv programmes on dvd box-set which i think includes all 58 episodes that were screened between 1962-65 and 1970-74 the box set also includes x2 Christmas specials screened in 1973 & 74. The two films called Steptoe & son and Steptoe & son ride again WASN'T included and was bought separately by myself to complement the tv series (for only £5 for both films). I would guess that many people on this forum would remember watching the programmes when they were originally screened on the telly during the 1960s and again in the early '70s. I was only a 'kid' when the programmes were first shown between 1962-65 (i do remember them) but when it came back on the telly between 1970-74 i was a teenager in my middle teens and remember them very well. Re-watching a lot of these Steptoe & son episodes again lately after 40 years they really are as funny to watch again now as they were all those years ago.

Re: Steptoe & son tv programme dvds.
Wow. I didnt realise that all the Steptoe and Son episodes had survived. I thought that some had been lost by the BBC when they threw thousands of reels of film into the skip.
That is great news. Thanks Micky. I may put it on my Christmas list for relatives to buy me. I also watched most of the episodes as a kid and have seen a few repeats since, and I think that I appreciate some of the humour (and certainly the acting), more now than I did in the 1960s.
The same applies to Till Death Us Do Part, but many of the early episodes are still missing.

Re: Steptoe & son tv programme dvds.
Hello strang steel some of the end credits sometimes gives thanks to the 'Steptoe & son appreciation society' for that particular episode and on one or two of the 'black & white' episodes from the 1962-65 series the quality is a bit 'below' the usual good quality everyone comes to expect from the BBC but all in all it is a really good buy if anyone is thinking of getting it?. In the HMV shop in central London they sell it for about £65. but sometimes when the HMV shop is having a sale (which is several times a year) they sell it for £30. which is what i payed for it.
