Scanned images I took in the early 1960's
This is at Leicester London Road.
This was taken from the "bird cage" near the Leicester shed.

Crewe works I think or possibly Carlisle, can't be sure, on a school education visit(at least that's what we told the headmaster).

No problem burnie I am enjoying it.
The GWR Manors will be forever associated with The Cambrian route although a few did occasionally find there way up towards the London area on parcel workings (as seen on archive film footage featured on a dvd) with the entire class having a wide route availability throughout the GWR and subsequent Western Region of BR. On the introduction of the original 20 locos of the class during 1938 & 1939 (plus a further 10 locos in 1950) the locos weren't overly successful due to there indifferent steaming qualities until drafting modifications including the fitting of a smaller chimney that replaced the original chimney improved there overall steaming abilities from the early 1950s onwards. Out of a total of 30 locos in the class 9 Manors have now been preserved.

These negatives were in my Dads things, my brother has them all and is slowly going through and scanning any I might find interesting, there should be a couple of dozen more at least, including the Great Central.

I wonder if 7827 is at Shrewsbury shed? It doesn't look like Mold Junction.
46511 and 7827 were there in 1965. One of the Shrewsbury sheds was of corrugated iron construction.
I have had another look and Oswestry shed is even more likely. Again both locos were at Oswestry earlier in the 1960s.

Memory is definitely not what it was, but I didn't go to Shrewsbury or Oswestry in those days, this trip was Crewe, Chester and Mold
