Shipley & Windhill area 1950s
While train spotting on the Shipley bend in the 50.60.s .. you could look over towards this line , which was not connected to the main line .
I think the loco's came from Low Moor M.P.D .. not sure ...
I found this photo on a Bradford F/B page .. bringing back many memories ..of the day ..

Re: Another "cop" James B
Hi James,
Very interesting thread for me.
Between 1952 and 1958 I used to go to school in Bradford by train, and travelled daily between Guiseley and Frizinghall and back.
I suppose I must have bumped into you during my frequent trips to Shipley and Leeds City, 20a and 37b in those years.
On the school journey, I used to love those ex L and Y R tanks. Coffeepots we used to call them because of the burbling noise they made on the overun. Pleased to see that 50621 has been preserved.
Keep up the posts.
Dave

I found this photo on Bradford F/B page ..
It is not the loco that got me interested, but the station buildings ..
On both sides ,they look to be the same ...a good way of saving a few "coppers " ....Laisterdyke

The Crab on the left of the picture appears to be in steam, but has no tender.
I wonder if it blew up?

Unknown date at Shipley , a holiday excursion to Morecambe ???
Re: Another "cop" James B
A Hughes 'crab' 2-6-0 mixed traffic loco and it looks like it maybe no.42911?.
Assuming the loco is no.42911 the loco was built by the LMS in October 1930 and withdrawn by B.R. in November 1963 finally being cut up in May 1964.
