I've had one o' them for years!

My dad was "selectively deaf." He would not hear anything, nut you mutter "deaf old sod...." and he'd hear that OK!

I have not forgotten what I used to get up to; it is just that thinking about my exploits would make me wish that I could do it all again - only with the benefit of lots more experience.

And it is very depressing to think that I can't.

Well, during the summer holidays I went to Sri Lanka, (where my family originated from). I can definately say you can get away with a lot more there than here .

There's only one steam locomotive operational there, (yes I know only one ). But if there was one word I could use to describe the railways there it would be deathtrap.

Just out of curiousity, anyone else here under 20?

I had 5 14-yr old to deal with today.

OK, I needed eyes in my backside and, indeed, every other part of my anatomy ( ) to see what the little swine were getting up to but I must have done summat right, despite not being a qualified teach who hasn't done this for a bit.

I had to whizz off to a meeting in the afternoon and all the kids said "But can't we stay here with you?"

I got summat right.

Now to fix my car's bouncy bouncy suspension!

Oh, you can count me as one of those. I'm still playing in a pop music duo three nights a week. You think I'd be old enough to know better by now, but Naaaaahhh. I figure if blokes like Elton John and all the other old bands are still playing, I can still do it as well - mind you, they get paid more than me . 'Rock until I drop' is my philosophy.

A little while ago, Viking (eldest) sons had even more responsibility. When their fathers became doddery and senile, it was their filial duty to 'cleave [their father] headless with an axe'. Euthanasia & quality of life for the elderly is not a modern issue...
