Re: What is the world coming to?
I once saw chocolate Rich Tea biscuits several years ago. They disappeared from the shelves very quickly. I didn't fancy the idea of coating sweet biscuits with chocolate.
Bourbons are another biscuit that evaporates as soon as you open the packet.

Ah, now another treat comes to mind. A nice single malt and quality dark chocolate. No point scoffing here: you only need a little of each but it's a very satisfying combination when I don't have the room for emptying a new pack of biscuits.I have also found that my Malt Whisky tends to evaporate quickly when my G/F's son pays me a visit.
Also red wine and extra mature cheddar - for my more savoury moments.
This unit is fitted with a tea and/or biscuit deprivation sensor.

Re: What is the world coming to?
Afternoon all
Strong cheddar and red wine go together well.
I have never tried Malt with chocolate, but it sounds good.
I have steak marinating in red wine for tonight. I made some Roquefort butter last week and will put a slice on top of the steaks, I may try one of my G/F's chocolate with an after dinner malt.
I like the nickname, I've owned a couple of Norton's in the past.

On a visit to Napa Valley last year I tried a Merlot sipped over a piece of dark chocolate. Mmmmm!
Old Nortonian here, too. My first bike was an ex-WD 16H. After that I had an old Model 18.

Ay up!
That reminds me.

Good morning all
I had an Norton ES2 and a Norton model 50 featherbed which had been fitted with a different engine. A couple of BSA's and a couple of Triumphs. I never did own a side-valve, although I fancied a Norton 16H or a BSA M20.

Re: What is the world coming to?
The name is actually related to where I grew up! Sorry folks. Never really got involved with motorbikes. Totally and utterly devoted to bicycles and currently the owner of ooh, about 15 of them. Give me the opportunity and i will bore the socks off you about Reynolds tubing - which, ironically might well have been used by Norton for the odd 'special' now and then. Being a bike mechanic helps my addiction as the odd rarity pops up. I have in right now a 80+ year old racing bike to have the (later) Sturmey hub refurbished.

Re: What is the world coming to?
never got involved in bikes myself , had a BSA Sunbeam 250 twin puff chariot (scooter) , thing was it was BSA's bad design and they kept siezing if pushed hard due to no air flow , got rid then got a Bond P4 and a pillion passenger with who i settled down with ... as things in life expanded another seat was needed so along came the Minicar and low and behold its still with me - yippee , no road tax no MOT wonder if it'll happen with the insurance ???
