northern railfans club late 50s
Hi can anyone remember a visit by the Northern Railfans Club back in Feb or March 1959 when we visited the sheds in Carlisle, Dumfries, Motherwell and then all the sheds in the Glasgow area and finally Greenock and its sub shed, unfortunately I have lost all my notes over the years but I do remember meeting up with the main group on Carlisle station around 02.00 on a Sunday morning and finally arriving back into Manchester (the old Exchange station) around 17.00 on a Sunday evening, I would appreciate any information anyone can give, I now live in Australia and would love more information on my old trainspotting days, regards TA

Are you sure there wasn't an overnight stay?
It seems an awful lot of ground to cover in one day.

Thank you for your comment and to be honest it could have been an overnight but it was that long ago I'm just not sure, but what I am sure of is all the sheds I covered and I think I copped about 700 locos with this being my first trip to Glasgow.
