Offord Station (Hunts)

I am trying to find out if a potential relative of mine was a stationmaster at Offords Station after it opened circa 1850 . He does not appear in the census 1841/51/61/71, but rumour has it he may have been station master at some time in the early days . It would be most appreciated if someone could point me in the right direction .
