Ted Pizer
In the course of my research on the High Dyke Branch I have come across the character Ted Pizer, who was the signalman at Colsterworth Mines box until the branch shut in 1973. I know he lived at the Tunnel Cottages by High Dyke yard and have been told that he was 'Mr Highdyke'. I am writing a short story about some of the 'characters' on the branch and am including Ted. If anyone can add any information about him, either during his work or socially, then I would appreciate it. I am told he ended up as a station announcer at Grantham until he retired.
