Hi everyone, I've just joined the Forum and I'm hoping you may have some information regarding my late Grandfather, Charles Pearson Thompson.
When I was a child growing up in Darlington in the late-fifties/early sixties I was told that he had been in charge of the breakdown train for the area but I don't know whether that was true but as he was from an affluent family I suspect he did have a managerial position of some sort.
My father, Christopher C.P. Thompson also worked on the railways but as a fitter at the wagon works in Darlington
