I was wondering if any one could give me some info on the men who derailed the Flying scotsman in Cramlington 1926. My great- grandfather, George Stephenson, was one of the miners who was involved in the act. I would love to try and find a bit more about him.
It has always been kept very hush-hush in my family and no one wants to comment on it!
Thank you!

Have you read the recently (2006) published"Let No Wheels Turn" by Margaret Hutcherson? Its about the men involved essentially.I don't think theres a George Stephenson mentioned but a Bill Stephenson, one of those charged IIRC,features in it.
