I've just added a bio page to the engineers section, about William Bouch:

Any reference to the work of Wm Bouch should include a description of the 238 Class that he designed, which were to be the latest thing in passenger locos, but were a failure.They were known as Ginx's babies and a full description is given in O.S. Nock's Locomotives of the North Eastern Railway. P.37. I hope this is helpful.

Snippets of information about Wm Bouch.

Wm Bouch was the brother of Sir Thomas Bouch (1822- 1880) who was Engineer for the Tay Bridge which collapsed in 1879 with a loss of 79 lives. Thomas was born at Thursby in Cumbria in 1822, so this may also be William's birthplace.

Wm Bouch was Chief Engineer of Butterley Iron Works in 1837 when he went to Russia with a ship load of machinery for the Black Sea Navigation Company.

Looking at the dates, it looks like William was a bit older than Thomas.
