Crown Prince Hirohito's UK Tour in 18 May 1921

Post by Michael Lonsdale »

My Grandfather Thomas Alfred Lonsdale was a waiter on the train that took Crown Prince Hirohito on his UK tour in 1921. I'm looking for any information about the tour but especially photographs of the restaurant crew :)

I already have Crown Prince Hirohito's Itinerary for the tour.

Many thanks

As well as the usual suspects (NRM archives, and Kew National Archive), does the Japanese Embassy have anything (or pointers to someone who might)?

Hi Richard

I didn't think of the Japanese Embassy. I've tried Kew without luck and the NRM some years ago and wrote to them again earlier today.

Thanks

Hi Richard

I contacted the Japanese Embassy here in the UK and they have given me the email address of the Imperial Household in Japan :o and told me to contact them.

I'll keep you posted
