I'm always keen to receive anything that anyone comes across in any railway magazines about women working in any capacity on the LNER or any other railway.
I've accumulated a large amount already for my recently-published book "Railwaywomen" but I do have to think about the second edition!
I can also answer questions on same

I will try to get intouch with some of our local historians about women working on the NSR. Or I can give you some contact details etc.
Dave.

OK, here's a quiz.
My wife is the Commercial and Production Manager of Britain's busiest narrow gauge railway (around 13.5M passenger transits/year). Around 50% of her staff, including train crew, are female.
Which railway would that be, then?
I give in

13.5M (that is, 13,500,000) passenger transits a year?
Some more clues, then: this narrow-gauge railway has 10 route kilometres. 15 stations. No level crossings. Was originally rope-worked. Through tickets available from the national rail network.
C'mon, guys. I'm practically
telling you the answer here!

13 million passengers a year? Not likely.

Are they narrow gauge (good guess, though)?

Yes: the world's third oldest underground system, and the only one in the world with a four-foot gauge. The views from the window aren't exactly spectacular, mind.
