Identify a guard?

Identify a guard?

A bit after the LNER period but still on one of it's constituent lines, I wonder if anyone may be able to idetify the guard in the photo below. They are the crew of 37023 about to leave Consett with the final revenue earning train for Tyne Yard on 30/09/1983. I know that the driver is John Lodge but would like to identify the guard.

You can almost smell the diesel fumes in that cab. :wink:
