I have just registered with the LNER Encyclopedia, having seen some interesting exchanges posted some time ago about Tadcaster station and the branch to Ingleby's Mill. I have some first hand knowlege of this topic, if anyone is still interested.

Not my area of interest thanks, but welcome to the forum John! I am sure your post will re-awaken interest!

Welcome John.
Somewhere in my collection of stuff.
I have a copy of the 1914 line diagram for the branch showing the viaduct / bridge in plan view to the side.

Thanks for the welcome. Any information to add to my recollections would be very interesting. I was born within easy sight of the viaduct in 1942 and can just recollect a goods train to the mill (I think!).

Isn't it the centre of some controversy at the moment? Sam Smiths closing a footpath, or something like that?

This site
http://transportheritage.com/find-herit ... obi2Id=378 gives a nice potted history of it and a bibliography.Apparently it was last used in 1955.
