Flying Scotsman train service in recent years

Post by 65447 »

Can anyone who is knowledgable about such recent things please advise when the traditional 'Flying Scotsman' service ceased?

I'm aware that East Coast now only runs an up service under the name, departing Edinburgh 05.40, and that the former traditional 10 o'clock down departure is now the 'Northern Lights', but when did these changes take place? Was it under the present East Coast TOC, or one of its predecessors?

Railway Magazine have just run a survey of named trains; does that tell you? I've passed my copy on now so can't check.
