My query comes from a discussion, about British war films on the Beeb, over the last couple of weekends. Talking about Alec Guinness saving Malta, I mentioned the old biplanes and their heroics and that I thought there was a set of B.R. signal boxes with the same names.
I believe that they were renamed in honour of the aeroplanes but that might be a little fanciful!
Anyway, I think the boxes were around the North East, maybe even Darlington?
Anybody?
