Hi. Can anyone enlighten me as to the colour of paint used on station valances, guttering and downpipes, warehouse doors, window frames etc etc in BR days (1950s to be precise)? The area is North Northumberland/Tweed estuary, if that helps.
From memory, I'm thinking probably white......

Ian i may be wrong but light blue lower parts and white uppers spring to mind.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.

Be cautious - the information about the LNER is very definitely wrong in places and suspect in others. At least there are NE Region images (well, actually repaints on the NYMR) to view.
