Sleeping car blanket colours

Post by Trestrol »

I was sent a copy of a photo by 60044 which he mentioned in the thread "anothe Moquette Question" This was b&w but has been coloured by so hi tec piece of computer wizardry that can identify colours from a B&W photograph. It shows two young ladies posed in the act of slumber in a Gresley Third class convertable sleeper. The blankets are marked LNER KINGS CROSS but are striped in two colours of blue. I pocess an LNER blanket but it is grey with the LNER in red stitching, All my other railway blankets (B.R.E, B.R.SC,B.R.M and LMS) are all basicly the same colour. Was there different blanket colours between First and Third ? Did hotels have different ones also? My B.R.s.c example is wide enough for a double bed so must be a hotel example.
