Hi all,
Can anyone on the group supply me with photos of a LNER branch 'zero' milepost please, as well as a '1' milepost?
I have actual 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 heads in stock for size comparison, but actual mileposts- nil. These are needed to allow replicas to be made for a branch....
Many thanks
Frank N

Frank,
I would suggest that you should just look for the type utilised by the Company (or Contractor) that constructed the branch. The majority of these cast items were purchased via catalogues from foundries and so could turn up all over the place. For example, the two intermediate heads that I 'rescued' before a bypass road was built along part of the Waveney Valley line in South Norfolk are identical to those found along the West Highland Extension in Lochaber. Neither line was built by the LNER although both subsequently became a part of it.
