Looking for rail plans of electrified riverside line

Post by rover3.5 »

Hi,
I'm a new member, looking for rail plans, particularly the North Tyneside electrified lines, including the 'riverside' line around Walker to North Shields.

I am one of a group of well over 60's who discuss allsorts of regional antiquities and hope someone can help

Thanks

Yours Dennis.

Newcastle City archives, housed in the city's Discovery Museum, have very large scale ground plans of some of the Riverside loop stations.

You could also try Network Rail's Archives Dept at Hudson House, York. For a fee they may be able to copy any info they have onto a CD for you, as it's a closed line (they're unable to do this for lines still open, even if it's a freight only line with closed stations).

North Shields Public Library and the new Newcastle City library may also be able to help.

I have signalling plans of some of the stations HERE http://www.flickr.com/photos/pinzac55/s ... 620355068/ and if you search my photostream I also have photos of many of the stations.

NERA and the Ken Hoole study centre at Darlington North Rd museum may be another source.

Dear Sir, I have a linen map of the Tyneside Electric lines including the riverside and all the power supply sub stations. I need to go into my garage and look for the cardboard tube it is rolled up in. I shall take a whip and shield and hot iron as the creepy crawlies are a bit un nerving because of the size and the webs are as thick as net curtains. More anon-Jim Brodie. I'm wary of moths as well!
