Firstly I am sorry in advance if this is not the correct area to post this, but I found it the most suitable area.
Does any one have any photographs of the interior of a LNER compartment coach? First or third class? I have looked all over for pictures but they seem to be non existant!

Nick Campling's "Historic Carriage Drawings Vol. 1 LNER and Constituents" (Pendragon Press) has drawings of the interiors - usually just the plans.
It also has photos for each type, but quickly flipping through, I couldn't see any interior photos (I may have missed some).

Michael Harris' book "LNER Carriages" (Atlantic Transport Publishers 1995, ISBN 0 906899 47 8 ) has a good selection of plans and photographs - all black and white, but with some nice, detailed interior shots.

Does any one know where I can get hold of these books? The first one mentioned I can get Vol. 2 and 3 but 1 is a bit difficult and I also came across 'LNER standard Gresley carriages' published by the aptly named Mallard publishers. Does any one know of what this book is like in terms of details etc? or is my best bet just to go to isinglass models as they do the plans of most types of coaches, my first worry about doing this is that it could be rather expensive in the long run.

Most pictures of interiors are 1st class - in my LNER 150 book there are no interior shots of 3rd class carriages.

Sorry Karl - I was meaning to reply...
A good source for books (especially out of print ones) is Abebooks
(abebooks.com). This is a network of secondhand and specialist booksellers. People like myself who live in foreign lands pretty much have to rely on it.
I've just acquired Vol. 3 of "Historic Carriage Drawings" (Non-Passenger Coaching Stock). This came off EBay. Volumes come up now and again but you have to wait for them.
