Great Central signal box structure

I am am building a model of Aylesbury and behind the engine shed is this signal box structure used as a platelayers cabin, it looks like it was once a signal box, but does not match the design of either the later north or south signal boxes that seem pure GC extention design, looking through the Signal Box book it looks more like a MS&L type 2 box, it must have come from somewhere, any ideas, and can any one confirm it is a GC box?

Spot on! That is a standard MSLR signal box dating from between 1880 (introduction of gabled roofs and distincitve bargeboards) and at the latest around 1887 (vertical siding suprseeded by horizontal on new builds and re-claddings).

An interesting date considering that I thought the GCR arrived in force in 1899! I would imagine if you were very much interested in the matter the minutes of the GCR board/ committees kept at the National Archives (Kew) would record the re-siting of a redundant MSL signal box. Interesting photo- cheers for posting. I hope someone more knowledgeable might be able to give a fuller answer!
