Hi all,

I wouldn't normally point out Ebay sales, but a chap is currently selling a series of negatives for portraits of ex-GCR carriages that seem to be taken in the 1946-55 period. (pretty well spread out over the Southern area too- one turned up in Norwich!) There are some (albeit watermarked) 1200x1200 preview images. pretty much the clearest photos I've seen of some of these vehicles.

I am suprised to see one of the parker 12-wheeler open 3rds (Brush- built 1907) still going in the early 50s. It looks quite beaten-up, but the underframe trussing differs from what I have in my copy of the diagram book. Have I made a mistake identifying it, or does this represent an in-service modification I wonder?

search ebay for 'Great Central' and that does the trick.. worth a look! Ends 18-08-09, 04.15am

Oh, and the same chap seems to be selling negatives of GER types too! But I don't know much about them- or whether similar photos are available elsewhere...

Be careful with this guy who is in the US as his communication is neither quick or forthcoming.

I bought some negatives off him nearly three weeks ago, it took 10 days for him to respond to an e mail asking for a combined invoice and a further 10 days to react.

Even then he did not do an invoice through ebay, but a money request. I am waiting for these negatives, but have a bad feeling about it and the cost he has charged for postage (but we shall see)

Based on my experience i would not buy from him again.
