Cawood Branch query

Do we have anyone familiar with PWay drawings?

I have a drawing of a curve realignment scheme on the Cawood branch near Selby.
As far as I know the short branch was fairly straight with very few curves mainly near the junction with the Selby - Leeds main line.
OK admittedly even these would require attention sometime but that still does not in my opinion require the production of a drawing that shows a type of folded figure of eight as the end result.

Or was this a way of showing a long section on a standard sheet of drawing paper?

How did this drawing work in reality it does not bear any indication of being produced by Hallade or Shortts schemes.
It is not dated, numberered P 354 and titled
NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY
CAWOOD BRANCH REALIGNMENT OF CURVES BETWEEN 1/4 AND 3/4 MILEPOSTS

Any ideas anyone please?
