Can anyone point me to a source for checking the names and/or numbers of Pullman Cars in use on the Tees-Tyne and the Queen of Scots Pullmans during the 1950s (ie before Mark 1s)?

Thanks Silver Fox

Of the cars mentioned, I can remember that Car 79 and Ione lasted quite late, and both have been preserved. 79 is on the NYMR, I think, and Ione is owned by VSOE. I have a list of those vehicles to be found in No2 train of the Queen of Scots of 1928. They would all seem to be brand new then:

Car 79 Brake parlour third
Car 67 Kitchen third
Car 75 Parlour third
Phyllis Kitchen first
Agatha Parlour First
Car 74 Parlour third
Car 69 Kitchen third
Car 80 Brake parlour third

Anyone got a representative menu of the period? I am uncertain as to how diverse the range of meals on offer would have been, given the small kitchens and pantries the Pullmans had, and would love to see one. The only dinner I ever had was on the Brighton Belle, and it was fish, chips and peas!!

On the http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/BritPull/ Britpul Yahoo group, a member provides 'Coupe News' a very enlightening monthly emag. An edition was produced covering the Tees Tyne Pullman. It provides a lot of information. Well worth joining the group if you are in interested in Pullmans both for the ECML and Pullman info in general.

Hope of interest,

Steve White
