A nice pic taken by the resident signalman. A less than well known sports ground was on the upside?

Correct, sir - looks very much a main line station, though, doesn't it?


There was a home made board at Wood Green No 1, about 3' x2', reading NEW LINE with an arrow, which the signalman would display hopefully to anything they wanted to divert via Hertford without prior notice being available. It was quite an education to see some of the responses from the drivers. ha ha

Oh, should have added that the sports ground was the Great Northern Athletic Association - bet that was built on years ago!

Ok, where's this then, two opposite facing pictures

the Box in the middle of view2 (Top) is the one on the right of View 1 (bottom) note I have blanked out the singal box name!

If anyone can also tell me where we are looking as a bonus point aswell as the place!

Yep, it's waterworks crossing, looking first from Scarborough Bridge, then from Branches Yard, the signal box I have blanked is Leeman Road.
I will pop down tonight and try and get a similar view!
