The slip coach at Woodford & Hinton from the 6.20pm Marylebone to Bradford was shown to be replaced by a stop there instead in the "Train service Alterations - February 1936 - For the Information of Publishers" (RAIL 943/23 at TNA Kew).

As 1 February 1936 was a Saturday, would it have been LNER practice, at that time, to make changes with effect from the first day of the month - or from the first Monday of the month? Put simply, would Woodford have been served by (the final) slip working on Saturday 1 February 1936 - or would that day have been the first day on which a call was made instead?

My understanding is that timetable or working alterations came into effect on the due date regardless of the day of the week.
