Beverley Station Platform Board

Can anyone please tell me what the name board would be like on the platform of Beverley Station in 1948. I'd like to know the style of board and colours painted please. If you have a photo that would be a bonus.

I found this image on the Disused Stations site http://disused-stations.org.uk/b/beverley/index.shtml. Date given as 1957 and in black and white but at least it's a start.

That's probably going to be LNER standard in 1948. BR had only just taken over and probably hadn't gotten around to installing 'standard' signs, which were orange backed enamel if I'm not mistaken. The image looks like a BR standard sign but hard to say when it would've been fitted.

This may seem a strange request. My wife and I were visiting Beverley last year and saw Railway Signs - Station Platforms with names on. She said she would like one but I thought the signs were not correct. I am trying to get a correct sign at the year she was born, and her family came from Beverley, hence her name.

So to be correct style of sign, what colours were the lettering and the background.

I would like to get a sign with Beverley 1948 for her summer house where she has lots of memorabilia,

That sign at Beverley looks most likely an NER enamel nameboard painted over in BR(NE) orange with white letters. The purpose made BR orange enamel nameboards normally had black edged letters. Minor stations would have painted wooden boards and I remember on a visit to Bubwith station in 1978 one was still there. LNER boards often had cast spelter letters on a wooden board and further down the line at Holme Moor there was still one in 1977.
