Good morning. I am new to this forum but have been a keen LNER enthusiast living in Australia for almost all of my life. I am designing a layout and wanted to include a goods line used for both up and down slower trains alongside the main (express) up and down lines. The line will start from the goods yard of multi platform station, run through the next station (this station being three lines) then terminating before a viaduct. I was wondering if this was commonly done in this way or if they only ran up/down express with up/down goods? If so does anyone have any information on rules and passing movements at the stations.
