Where,when+why? Hush Hush 10000+4472 Flying Scotsman

I have added a collection of photos i have obtained of a display of LNER locos

I have no idea of location, info with photos says possibly 1938 at Felixstowe?
Does anyone have any further info on this display please

sorry I can't answer but I can advise the late Willie Yeadon compiled a list of such events which may be available via his collection at the Brynmor Jones Library of the University of Hull. It's title is fittingly "Grand Parade"

Well it certainly isn't 1938, as 10000 was rebuilt with a conventional boiler in 1936-7.

And 'Rising Sun' wasn't a CLC railcar (the Edgware destination board is a bit of a giveaway!) although the CLC railcars were to the same design.

Before October 1936, 4472 has a corridor tender.

In fact it is before August 1935, when 10000 disappeared for eventual rebuilding.

Early 1930s would be my thought.

I agree it certainly isn't 1938, early 30's at the latest, it may even be 1929 when W10000 was brand new. Of note is the fact that 4472 is still in Wembley exhibition livery, alas I can't remember ( would need to consult my notes) when she lost her polished bits and pieces , she still had them in 1928 and W10000 was built in 1929. 4472 also still has the smaller nameplates and no front steps, these were both added by 1935.

Absolutely not.

perhaps livery is the wrong word as she clearly doesn't have the company crest, but she does still have the polished rims, guard irons, handrail, buffers, ashpan damper rods, brass splasher edges, brake hangers etc etc...I can't quite see the tender but I'd bet that is polished too...
