Hi all, been researching a lot of information these past months planning an N gauge layout on a rather large scale but enough of that, seems there is scant information on the intraweb regrading the layout pre 1950 of immingham MPD specifically prior to the original steam sheds being partially demolished and the current shed being constructed as I recall it from my days based there.
I have managed to locate an original drawing of the dock area previously printed in the 'Engineer' showing the original planned layout for the dock area but expanding this to a usable viewing size renders it almost useless for seeing details of point positions and road numbers.
If any one could point me in the direction of the original print or similar for the MPD/Coaling tower area from this era would be of a great help as it is my intention to recreate this in as close a detail as possible.

Seems I was way behind the curve on this one in many respects when a friend pointed out a source of information I was not aware existed, odd how a chance comment can reveal just what you need out of the blue, anyway thought I might as well share this here as a source of information some like me had overlooked.
http://www.nls.uk/ Holds a vast library of information in various map formats including ''exactly'' what i was looking for but also includes the whole of the UK and beyond: at http://maps.nls.uk/index.html
http://maps.nls.uk/view/101587238, eye candy indeed to me at least but it does not stop there, a lot of these maps are produced as overlays for the current version of Google earth, so you can not only see what is there but also with a little tinkering reveal what 'Was' there, add to this the various tools available in GE it is not that difficult to gain measurements and exact locations of important details allowing as i have now found you to rebuild a scene in very accurate detail including buildings and natural features.
All of this is available FoC by saving the original image but better still as a download original quality JPEG for £9.00 per map.
Hope some of you find this information of use.
