I'll tell you what my wallet has felt the brunt of these books, I can tell you ;)

Just finished North Eastern Engine Man. Living in Wensleydale and being an active volunteer on the Wensleydale Railway, the book certainly had some interesting stories Syd's travels on my branch ;)

Anyhow, I'm about to start the Bill Hoole book, plus I've just ordered the 4 'Men of Steam books' sound right up my alley. Something to read when the kids dont' turn up for their Violin Lessons. :D

I bought the 4 books in the Men of Steam series.

I'm about 20 pages from the end...but I've sort of lost interest....not sure why, maybe it's for the reasons Solario mentioned.....

thats nice too see my uncle orry getting a mention,i was only a kid when he sadly passed away but saw him quite regular when i used too pop in to see if he wanted his favourite sweets bringing back from town.

Very good read that book especially for me.
