If I remember rightly from KX Divisional Control (Great Northern House, 79-81 Euston Road), all the 'Trips' in the Division were allocated a headcode from a single 'T' number series - low numbers at the south end, increasing the further north they were based, although not all ran frequently or regularly.
I think the Hitchin area's were T45-T48(-T50?), with Peterboro's higher (I think T64 was a regular).
T24 was a regular one that we kept track of, serving IIRC, (as required), KX station, KXFT, Holloway, (Clarence Yard?), Ferme Park Down, Bounds Green, and Hornsey CS [& possibly Fins.Pk. CS; but not Western Sidings (Fins.Pk.) as that was exclusively a DMU depot].
I seem to remember that 2Shunt had a short-ish scheduled excursion most (week-?)days, even when it was a '350' [three-fifty : Later Class 08]. to Clarence yard and back, with fuel tanks, presumably for Fins.Pk. Diesel Depot. As for all 'goods' trains through the KX Control area, "the Oil Trip" as we called it, had (on No.1 Section controller's desk in this case), a card lasting a calendar week on which the train's daily actual times at reporting locations were written as a record of running against scheduled times.
I feel sure that 'the Oil Trip's official Trip No. headcode, as on its card, was 6T11 ( and that, despite whenever I noticed it, displaying "1S..", 1Shunt's official No. was T10).
Sound familiar to anyone?
