Boothferry Halt - Help !!

Post by jonorjonjon »

Served Boothferry Park on match days.

Does anybody have a timetable, or knowlege of how many special trains ran on match days, and when was the halt last used?

Thank you in advance for any replies.

NERA have featured Boothferry Park Halt in North Eastern Express issues 200 (Nov 2010) & 201 (Feb 2011).

The halt opened in 1951 and up to 8 trains served the Halt on match days running from Paragon; the service ceased in 1986 but at least 2 railtours stopped at the halt subsequently.

Reference is also made to articles in Modern Railways April/May 1976

There is no timetable given but trains were dispatched at 10 minute intervals from Paragon the journey time being 8/9 minutes. There is mention on one occasion of the last train from Paragon being 14:45.

If you weren't aware, the platform was removed 2 years ago (when the line was "upgraded" for increased freight to Hull docks). The ramp up the embankment is still there, buried in undergrowth.....
