I can confirm that story.......also a driver stopped his train at Fins Pk No 1 and calls to the signalman 'Want to report your distant not working' signalman replies puzzled 'I pulled it off', driver ' Oh that's what it was, been such a long time' and away we went???
That distant, was also known to go a lot farther than 45degrees, more like 70 degrees, looked more like a old somersault
