I am trying to locate an accident report for a crash at Musselburgh on New years day 1941 during my research i have come across several items of note concerning the LNER especially the accident report link below concerning an American S160 at Thurston on the GER section. I have posted the links for this accident as it mirrors one on the GWR. The cause of the accident is really down to British crews not being familiar with American methods.

Or American locos not matching Britain's railways. The RCTS books describe a range of problems along these lines (locos built for a different kind of railway that was operated in a different way / crews used to a different way of operating). Brick arch collapses, derailments running backwards (common on NER lines), "inadequate" brakes compared to the locomotive's power, etc.
