LNER in Hull ,Queens dock avenue

Hi there everyone,this maybe a strange ask.., I work for a charity in Hull that works with young people, we are doing a project about our building that is associated with the first dock in Hull that is now a public park called Queens gardens. Our building was built to serve this dock in we think, the mid 1800s and is opposite the rosebowl fountain .Next to the Maritime museum which was where the owners and dock offices were. The reason for this query is during our research we have found out it was used as a fire station for the dock which at this time was owned by NER, later LNER . Who eventually sold the dock and it's 'environs' to the local council. what we cant find is who built our building or the original plans for it .The local history centre has been a massive help but haven't got any of the plans or details of who and when . my question to the hive mind is ,does anyone know where we might find out the history of the NER,LNER, fire service or any other things related to our building?

Sorry was busy when I approved your original post.
The NERA also published a 3 vol set about NER Architecture. Just quickly looked at the indexes. Hull is in all 3, but the first two volumes refer to the station, goods shed, etc. The docks appear in vol.3, but this volume covers later buildings (looks like 1870s onwards) and is limited to buildings after 1893.

Looks like most of the dock buildings (ie. before 1893) were inherited from the Hull Dock Company in 1893, if that makes sense?

Thanks for that Richard, yes that absolutely fits the timeline that we have ,and i know that NER/LNER didn't build it the dock company probably did . On the Goad insurance map from the late 1800s it states that its an fire engine house ,then 1909 its an NER fire station (No.3) then an LNER fire station and thats up to the 1930's when it was sold to the council .
it would be interesting to know what kind of livery the engine may have had when it was related to NER/LNER.
Part of our plan is to reflect the history of the space where it was with an "engine house No.3 properly sign written?over the arched window ,that back then was a door .Hopefully in the correct colours/font .
