This could be an excellent idea. Having lived in Nottingham and worked near Leicester, I know full well that there would be serious issues with infrastructure - or lack of it - in that area. As an exercise, it would be interesting to see a) a current map of the network (not too difficult I know) and b) a map of those disused lines which still exist. Making an overlay of the latter could be interesting.
