L&N.E.R Acme Thunderer whistle

Hi, I'm hoping you could all help me out here
I just bought the above named whistle for £40 in an antique shop. I'm wanting to know if its genuine and worth the price.
On the back I'm sure it says ACMEOID ENGLAND J Co

It's nice but (admittedly I have not been collecting for 10 years) not worth £40. £20 at most

The Acme Thunderer whistle is still made today on sale around £4/£6.00 online.
My wife still has the one she used for School yard duties.

Manna, if you saw Portillo this week it showed you. The ball is actually cork and was steamed to make it pliable.It was then squeezed through the alit and left to dry out, and as it did it expanded. Corks in wine bottles use the same priciple. So question answered for me as well!

"LIKE" But manna is in OZ so he might not have seen it.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.
