Maps

Post by JohnV »

Could anyone advise me as to where I might be able to get hold of a region map - similar to the type which came with old timetables? I'm interested in the mid-50s.
Cheers.

Area, Eastern, North Eastern, Scottish? Or maybe another.

Things changed in the 1950s too. Earlier or later.

I have a few public timetable maps, but it does depend on your particular interest.

If you keep a look out on e-Bay, old timetables appear from time to time. Alternatively, you may find one in a specialist bookshop - search the online AbeBooks website.

Alternatively, would an atlas be appropriate? I have a British Railways atlas published in 2000 by Ian Allan for the year 1955 - again look in e-Bay or AbeBooks

Hope this helps
