I saw in a Model Rail Article something on working buckeye couplings and just wondered if anyone used them and if so how well they worked. WHEN I get round to building a couple of coaches I would like to know the best type of coupling to use.
Regards
Karl

Hi Karl,
Do you mean Kadees? I can't get on with them personally but they're very widely used and the devotees swear by them.

Evening,
I'm in the process of converting my modern image stock over to kadees, starting with my DMUs and some of my freight stock. I've had fewer problems with these than tension locks as regards random uncouplings, and am in general extremely pleased with the end results. I am however going to use keen close couplers on my carriage rakes with kadees on the outer ends, you can get buckeye connectors for the close coupling bars if you want to look more realistic.
