I am cosidering buying the Mallard in garter blue, and can not decide which make to choose ie Hornby R2339 or
Bachman 31-952, I have not been able to compare detail as yet only by pictures via the net. I have Hornby track and points, If anybody has any experiance running either I would appreciate there input.

Hornby every time superb detail , running etc. Bachmann offering is clumsy in comparison noisy and poorly detailed. I have six Hornby pre war A4's in various versions al excellent. The bachmanns I did have helped pay for them via Ebay !!

Thanks for that, there is quite a price difference between the two, different outlets having different prices too, but I `ll pay for quality every time.

Two good looking latest model used Hornby Mallards have sold on eBay this week, both for under £60, one actually under £50! One had the cab doors missing, but you don't get anything like that level of detail on the Bachmann model for seventy-odd pounds.......
