Hi all

I'm a very keen model railwayer and always have been an LNER chap. At the age of 23 I missed steam at work on the railways of Great Britain.
So me and my Dad are building a layout roughly 8ft by 14ft.
Originally it was to be based on the Rev Awdry's Railway Series, but in since Christmas, I was inspired to model the ECML in some way.

They layout it's self is fictional, with the main station being Eastcote Central, which is my version of York really. There is also East Allerton, a country
station on the ECML, somewhere like Thirsk.

Anyhow, I decided to go with BR era 1956-1964 so i could really incorperate the Peppercorn Pacifics, plus the odd Diesel.

This leads on to North Eastern Steam...

North Eastern Steam is my youtube series im creating. I have done numerous trailers, with Episode 1 being released on 15th June 2009. The series documents steam at work on the North Eastern Region as if filmed in the era 1956-1964, with me giving narration.

My work can be found on my youtube page here
http://www.youtube.com/user/DoctorTankEngine

anyhow here is pictures of the layout, in it's general current condition

Well I hope you like my work so far, of course the East Allerton section is by far the most complete section
as that is where my first Episode will be about.

I would love to know your thoughts :-)

and please have a look at my youtube channel, a link is in my signiture :-)

Best

Hello chaps! :)

Well have been adding some more fencing this evening along the back, also the area behind the far platform has been sorted, and the wood securing the backdrop has been covered!
Image
back drop covered up to signal box, although some touching up to do

Image
far name plate in place

Image
quite a few vehicles can be seen at East Allerton, plus the new trees!

Image
It's like being in Heartbeat!!!!! ;)

Image
the BR delivery van is ready to leave!

Image
Postman Dennis is about to leave too

Image
the new trees

Image
a rather grubby Peppercorn A1 60144 'King's Courier' charges through with a fast freight!

Well I hope you like the current update, I now have to add the slopping platform fencing, which is the fun bit! ::)

Ratio don't make sloping platform fencing, so either I just put the normal fencing there, which means the posts will be sloping, or I bash the fencing which will be rather tedious, but will most likely look better!

Anyhow more developments at East Allerton,
Image
the young lovers wait for the train which will seperate them

Image
Milk Chruns and baskets with parcels cane be seen from the morning trains delivery!

Image
The East Allerton Garden, unfortunatley not as cared for as it once was old
Stephen Reynolds, the station master isn't as young as he once was

Image
car park looks a little hectic, I don't see how the milk float will get out!

Image
the reason for the other wall, due to traffic using the goods road, down to the sidings

Image
the K3 waits with the local

Image
BR van waits patiently

Image
and with the rise of the signal, the train leaves

please take this as a compliment- I'd say that is one 'old-school' layout! And much the better for it! Nothing better than watching LNER/BR-ER pacifics thunder along the track, even in the days they were prematurely subjected to hauling fitted freights et al.

But please please please repaint those skaledale models in something approaching BR NE region colours!!!!!!!!!!!! :!:
