East Coast Main Line in BRM annual

Post by smudger »

Picked up the British Railway Modelling annual today. It has a large feature on layouts depicting the East Coast Main Line. Well worth a look.

I've never seen a copy of British Railway Modelling on the shelves here, so I had a quick look at their site. Going to the Layouts section, I found a few still shots of Copenhagen Fields and The Gresley Beat - wonderful stuff. But, aside from the magnificent modelling, what struck me was the care taken in the photography, a factor which made the scenes all the more impressive. It just goes to show that merely snapping away from a standing position does no justice at all to the models, although I do realise that in the general bustle around exhibits at shows the average spectator doesn't have the privilege enjoyed by those assigned to do a proper photo shoot but, photography-wise, there are some valuable tips to be picked up by looking at BRM's shots.
