Thanks for the link,all of these are great prototypes esp the B15-I'll be showing interest here but like Bass the lack of castings is a big drawback,its increasingly difficult in the last few years to source parts esp. when it all has to be done by post! I suppose the ideal situation would be if a currently very active outfit such as London Road took over the artwork and finished the kits.And I wonder what has happened to Jeremy Suters B7 project?There were some tantalising photos of a pre-production build in RM last year but nothing since!

I spoke to Jeremy back in April and it seems the B7 is still on the cards but he, like me, finds that other things tend to get in the way. If you remember I made a bold statement about 2 years ago (was it really that long ago ) regarding the development of an etched kit for a GCR/LNER N5 0-6-2T. I haven't been idle on this and a huge amount of work has gone into the research alone. However looking forward I am now well into designing the chassis and there is a definite plan of how the body will be constructed. The attached picture might be of interest.

Your observation about London Road Models is indeed a very relevant one and, in my view, would be the ideal way to get these NE loco etchings turned into full kits. John Redrup has made a very successful business out of taking on various ranges (the George Norton kits spring to mind) and improving them. In addition the more recent GNR based releases are the work of third party designers that use LRM to offer the kits to a wider market.
